Kira Talent is a pure-play SaaS business that charges schools on an annual basis. Their deals vary in size based on the volume of applications, with the average generating approximately $20k in annual revenue.

Founded in 2012, their software is now used at 300 campuses around the world with the company doing close to $500k in MRR, according to CEO Emilie Cushman. Kira Talent has exhibited healthy growth in the last 12 months, growing revenue 75% year over year.

What is Kira Talent’s churn?

With long-term contracts, Kira Talent has churned virtually no customers over the lifetime of their company. Cushman explained the success of their land and expand model, as the company is posting 120% net revenue retention annually at this point in time.

In terms of customer acquisition, Kira Talent is currently operating with a 3:1 LTV to CAC ratio and is working to improve this figure as they look to increase their average deal size. The company assumes a minimum LTV of $60k over the course of 3 years.

How much has Kira Talent raised?

Originally founded by Cushman and her co-founder in 2012, their investors insisted upon replacing the young duo with a more seasoned operator as CEO. This experiment however, was a resounding failure and resulted in Cushman taking the reigns back two years ago.

Overall, the company has raised more than $8M in venture capital to date. Going forward, their team of 20 full-time employees, based in Toronto, is focused on hitting profitability in the next 12 months.
