Experienced, results-oriented, commercially-minded Executive, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. Leader whose team seeks to drive business results by partnering with business units to operate lawfully and effectively. Excel at breaking new ground, advising on business/strategic issues, leading at times of crisis, and bringing parties together. Passionate about building high-performing teams that incorporate the best of our corporate culture. Perhaps most important - excellent communicator who can break down complex issues and put them into simple terms (high praise from a former CEO: "you talk like a human, not a lawyer"). Prior to Flexport, I headed up legal and compliance for Xoom. Prior to Xoom, I was Senior Counsel at PayPal (and eBay). I earned my law degree from Georgetown University and started my legal career in New York City, first at a full service corporate law firm (Rosenman & Colin) and then at the leading firm servicing the marketing/communications industry (Davis & Gilbert).
