Switchee is on a mission to make housing better for everyone. Positioned as a socially conscious technology innovator, Switchee is dedicated to finding elegant solutions to housing issues. By developing and supplying connected devices and analytics for landlords and their residents, Switchee aims to empower landlords to create exceptional homes, focusing on enhancing comfort, affordability, security, and safety for residents. In 2015, Switchee launched its first product, a smart thermostat, tailored as an enterprise solution for the housing sector. Before embarking on the design of this product, the Switchee team engaged in comprehensive research. They conducted expert interviews with senior housing professionals from various sectors, including Local Authorities, Housing Associations, contractors, and consultants. The aim was to gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges these professionals encountered in promoting the health and wellbeing of residents and in maintaining large, complex housing portfolios. Since its introduction to the market, Switchee's smart thermostat has experienced rapid adoption among some of the U.K.'s largest landlords, with notable first commercial rollouts in Peabody and Flagship beginning in 2017. To date, more than 45 social landlords have installed over 5,000 Switchee thermostats in housing association and local authority homes across the country. This widespread adoption signals a strong endorsement of Switchee's innovative approach to improving the standard of living through technology.
