The company was called Citifinancial Consumer Finance India Ltd and was the market leader in small ticket, sub prime lending and was a part of the global Citifinancial finance arm of Citigroup. He was a Director in Kennametal India Ltd (erstwhile Widia (India) Ltd) from 1991 to 2002 as a member of the promoter group. He was also on the board of Ing Vysya Bank as an independent director from 2007 to 2013.
