Chaser, operating at try.chaseforme.com, is an early-stage project management tool built natively inside Slack. The product allows a single user to delegate tasks to anyone, whether or not the recipient has a Chaser account, with Slack or email delivering the assignment and automated follow-up collecting progress updates. As of October 2023, the company is pre-revenue, offering its MVP at no charge while focusing on retention and product stickiness. Founder and CEO Josh Martow, 31, launched Chaser after five years at Thriver Technologies, where he held three director-level roles and watched the corporate catering company's revenue collapse 97% during COVID before eventually reaching 165 employees and $60 million in revenue. Martow and his co-founder, the former head of engineering at Thriver, split equity 50/50 and are currently unpaid. The team of four is funded by $120,000 raised across two rounds. With 100 companies on the platform and 43% retention measured over 16 weeks, Chaser is in the growth-before-monetization phase. Customer acquisition runs through the Slack App Directory and Meta retargeting ads. The company has not yet set a price or launched a paywall, with Martow indicating the priority is scaling the user base before introducing paid tiers.
