Shop Circle employed between 290 and 300 people across all portfolio companies as of May 2026. Of that total, 10 engineers work on the centralized AI team, CircleX, which Cartechini described as functioning like an internal consultancy that identifies AI use cases and deploys automation across portfolio products. Cartechini acknowledged that 10 engineers is not sufficient to scale across the full portfolio on its own and that the model relies on training product managers and developers at each portfolio company as well.
