Jon Olson

Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer at TruMarx Data Partners, Inc., Jon led the creation of TruMarx Data Partners Inc., TDP with offices in the US, Asia and Europe. TDP’s product, COMET, is the first-ever electronic, bilateral negotiation and execution platform for custom, over-the-counter energy commodity transactions. Launched in 2009, COMET now has nearly 350 active corporate subscribers including many blue-chip energy companies, facilitating over a quarter of a million physical deliveries across 16 asset classes. Jon Olson has well over 20 years of experience in the energy and commodities market data and software industries. He led the purchase of MarketView Software Inc. and was the company’s CEO for 13 years, re-naming the company GlobalView Software Inc. This name change reflected the company’s expansion into international markets. Jon led GlobalView through its transition to a web-based platform, MarketView, which garnered multiple awards and broad industry recognition for its strong business value. MarketView resulted in GlobalView’s largest revenue gain up almost 60% in 2005 in its history. Jon also negotiated and oversaw the delivery of ConfirmHub, an ASP system which homogenized all of the transaction confirmations for the 3 largest brokers in the energy market now owned and operated by the CME. Jon’s previous experience includes investment banking, venture capital including structuring investments in both financial IT and upstream oil and gas investments and securities brokerage at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Bacon Whipple and William Blair & Co. Jon attended the joint J.D. /M.B.A doctoral program at Northwestern University in Chicago. He earned a B.A in Political Economy from Colorado College, Colorado Springs in 1980.
