I believe that many of the problems we face today - from climate change and biodiversity to social justice - are intertwined with geography and can only be addressed by communities of people working together. I founded Azavea to build innovative geospatial technology and apply it for civic, social, and environmental impact. I'm motivated by the opportunity to invent new tools that help people make better decisions and then applying them to complex and meaningful challenges. Our work is diverse - land, water, transportation, agriculture, elections, and more - and I derive great joy from both watching my colleagues grow and seeing the extraordinarily high level of software engineering, UX design, and data processing excellence that they deliver every day.
