Matias is the Co-Founder and CEO of Fz Sports, a global technology company that connects sports fans with the content they love. Its innovative technology and business model enables rights holders to better connect with and monetize their audiences, while also enhancing the sports viewing and engagement experience for fans. It operates three independent but complementary businesses: Fanatiz: One of the fastest growing sports streaming platforms on the planet. It brings the best of global sports to enjoy live and on demand from any device. 1190 Sports: Manages and commercializes sports rights – broadcasting, image, and distribution – providing a unique value proposition allowing leagues, federations, and brands to strengthen their connection with consumers. Nunchee: Provides white-label technology and know-how to create and operate direct-to-consumer streaming services focused on sports content. In addition to his ongoing work at the helm of Fanatiz, Matias is a seasoned entrepreneur, having helped launch four other successful organizations: Start-Up Chile, Reforestemos Foundation, Jump Chile and Healyx Labs. He earned an Industrial & Computer Science Engineering degree in 2010 from Chile’s Catholic University, holds an MBA from Stanford University, where he was recognized with the 2016 Miller Social Change Leadership Award, and has studied at both Harvard University and Singularity University. Besides his day to day work at Fanatiz, Rivera is actively involved in non-profit and social impact activities, serving as Chairman of Reforestemos Foundation, the boards of Patagonia Sur and Fundación Lealtad Chile, and as a member of the Chilean Board of Trustees of The Nature Conservancy. He is also a member of Millenium Leaders ML50 (www.g-50.org), a select group of outstanding Latin American professionals under the age of 40.
