Restworld is an Italian recruiting-as-a-service platform that matches workers with employers in the hospitality sector, known in Italy as Horeca. Founded in 2020, one week before the COVID-19 pandemic began, the company serves restaurants, hotels, and bars with between one and twenty employees that need to hire staff. Rather than offering self-serve software, Restworld pairs each customer with a customer success manager who manages the search and placement process on their behalf.
As of March 2023, Restworld reported approximately 33,000 euros per month in recurring revenue, equivalent to roughly 396,000 euros annualized, up from approximately 96,000 euros the prior year. The company serves 95 active customers at an average monthly price of 350 euros per slot. Restworld has raised a total of roughly 657,000 euros across four seed rounds since 2020, most recently closing a 265,000-dollar round at a pre-money valuation of 3.2 million dollars and a post-money valuation of 3.5 million euros.
The company was co-founded by four people, two psychologists and two engineers, and is led by Luca Lotterio, who is 29 years old. The team totals 12 full-time employees, including three engineers. Investors hold 20 percent of the company, with the four co-founders splitting the remaining 80 percent evenly at 20 percent each.
