As student Steffen started his own business in 1990 with technical services for travel agencies. A few years later, his career led him to Partners Software, where he took over sales management and built up an international team. In 2000 he moved to Hamburg to join DCS GmbH, which soon became part of Sabre. Here he built up the mid-office company Travel Management Systems as Managing Director and was Director Business Development at Sabre Germany. Early on, Steffen, together with Jörg Hauschild and Marcus Haarmann, developed a vision for a mid-office system of the future for the travel industry. Together they founded Midoco in 2005.
