hello everyone my guest today is Tiago Varney he is an entrepreneur journalist developer and passionate about innovation he's got more than 8 years building software in Brazil and deep learning - on how to deliver value to customers through IT today he's an advocate he advocates a safer faster and more scalable internet through entrepreneurship his company that he's focused on is net say we'll focus on that today Tiago are you ready to take us to the top yes thanks for the show nantan I'm very grateful to be here and this time this conversation with you thank you so much for joining so tell us about the company what do you do and how do you make money well let's see it's a sassy mes that publishes websites in a CDN so for the people that don't know what is a CDN it's a kind of hosting that publishes websites so a web solution around the globe so when you publish a website in these you have this kind of 100 of nodes publishing this website so is more security my art faster and better to scale digital solutions very good and what your is it a pure SAS company oh but your revenue model is it home is it software as a service only yes well we are we started selling websites in this model with the solution for ages enterpreneurs here in Brazil we we started selling in size b2b model in a revenue monthly revenue and it's a says b2b okay and what year did you launch well we launched like one year ago so we started with these partnerships with agents that had this problem too scale digital solutions for their clients so through this software they can create a new website publishing the CDN and it starts to capture better clients for them and what was your what's your revenue today how much per month well yeah we have like a 50 clients today with their monthly revenue we are getting like 20 and Jul 15 thousand dollars per month and like sorry that's okay Tiago so you're doing right now you're doing twenty thousand United States dollars per month yeah yes and no five thousand dollars per month okay five thousand dollars in so your total revenue today is five thousand dollars per month yes and how many like that and how many customers yes we are like a 3040 customers now okay so 30 customers and altogether they pay you $5,000 per month so each one pays about 100 150 bucks per month yes it's like like that that's a real and have you raised copper or you bootstrapped bootstrap we started in bootstrap in these I work in two agencies that we produce a websites in WordPress we thought that was a great problem when the clients create a website with this platform because they pay a lot for these and after they publish the website had a lot lot of problems like lack of security like performance so we started building these two to allow them to have a better solution in security and scalability and what your team size today how many people yeah it's me and more three people working with yes so you like a far five today five people total and and as everybody based in floripa down there in Brazil yes everybody here in Brazil very good what about churn do you know what your churn is or is it too early I think it's too early we didn't have any churn now we have like an early contract so the glides renewal after a year and we are getting better it is kind of contract with them to caramel kind of service together so it's like that and Tiago why why did you launch this company you know launch in company is very difficult why are you doing it well we saw that it's very difficult today to create a scalable web solution for actually price so it was we saw this was a problem in the digital marketing digital market here the people started to create a campaign put a traffic on website and that goes down with some thousands of users seen that page so it was how is in my mind think that why someone cannot have a page that can scale able to 1 billion people and have this a bearer objective in campaign so it was diesel beginning 12 people who have a better do store marketing campaigns for their business and Thiago where are you in life did you leave your company like your corporate job to do this how old are you well when I did that or how how old are you today 28 so what were you doing before this I I acted as a programmer in a tech company it was a SAS company in educational marketing so they had a software for management okay educational universities and are you happy that you left yes I very happy you know it's kind of difficult Brazil is not for amateurs see it's very difficult this scenario here but it's kind of interesting because we are bringing some good results for our clients they are getting Marc clients with the solutions so we are very interested to get in grow up in this market and Alabam with this dick couple CMS and publish this on a hi-tech proposal to allow them a scale on digital marketing so that's our go away when the I think we have to maintain these kind of line and how how did you get your first 15 of 30 customers well when I started this I was in the company and I was working on other turn and on afternoon and selling the for the their customers in and other times so it was a part-time job that I was starting the company and I was producing and creating all this concept so the MVP it was created with this context which disquiets and AE and we start growing with this so get some points that I saw well we have to start a team with we had to create some basic company to all to Oliver's to get much more battleships and start growing in the e here you know we're see very good Thiago I like the story I hope you come back on in a year and let us know how it's going but for now let's wrap up with the famous five number one what's your favorite business book well I like the how English a so I buy the language but you speak you speak great English don't worry no thanks that well the first book I I like it's if you can't remember that's okay Daniel Carnegie yes how to make friends and how to win friends and influence people you please people yes number two is there a CEO that you're following or studying well I like a lot of Bill Gates I like someone president intrapreneurs so and rock content founder Jacob Bohm is I like a lot it says as which will be father here very famous like some another hearing in our capital to that is Alex Santos founder of his desert eyes that says between marketing companies as CRM here number and each Iago what is your favorite online tool for building your business so I think what is your favorite online tool for building your business oh the favor - well we like it a lot Trello we use it a lot here in the company use loom - for some business meetings and a Louis for some customers who says proceed procedures rate those are two good ones Trello and loom number four how many hours of sleep to get every night how how many hours of sleep do you get every night five hours five six hours okay and you're 28 years old what's your situation married single kids I'm single but I leave my a girlfriend but no no kids no kids now alright last question what is something that you wish your 20 year old self knew what I wish well why I won't grow with this startup company and I think I have more time for the life I think grow up with productive revenue and grow with this this company in so guys there you have it from Thiago he's looking forward to growing at the company he wishes he maybe would have enjoyed life more when he was a little bit younger launched in NZ back in 2017 now serving between 30 and 50 customers doing five thousand per month in revenue their bootstraps they've got about five people based down there in Brazil working on this product again making content on sites especially in Brazil
