Currently, I am Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Songclip™. Songclip is a new licensed music format built specifically for texting, social posts, and quick communication. Songclip’s multi-patented networked product solution, the Songclip API, integrates seamlessly into social platforms, mobile apps, and virtual marketplaces to drive expression, monetization, and music streaming. Songclip operates the world’s foremost searchable library of 5-10 second meta-tagged music clips, in partnership with the music industry. www.songclip.com. I dove into the tech space as one of the first employees at Infoseek—and have worked since to define strategy and drive high-growth business units for some of the world's largest consumer media companies (AOL, Discovery, Hearst). I have also been active with various media organizations/non-profits, and as a board member of the Cinema Advertising Council & Audiobyte (parent company of Songclip). In 2011, I helped launch ToneMedia, which became the world's #1 music property across all mobile, reaching 120 million entertainment fans a month, successfully acquired with Bandsintown in 2014. Post acquisition, I formed BlackerStrategic, advising and investing in early start-ups in the digital/mobile space. My mission is to help innovative companies and fellow entrepreneurs thrive and grow. I know the pain and amazing financial opportunity of building a media business from inception through acquisition, and the importance of providing mentorship to the new generation coming up.
