He founded Skill-Life, Inc. -- a technology company that developed the MoneyIsland financial education software for kids. Skill-Life, was acquired by BancVue, Ltd. in January 2010. In April 2014, Felix and Zoobean co-founder Jordan Bookey were featured on the ABC television show "Shark Tank" through which they gained an investment from businessman Mark Cuban. The company has since gained investments from Kapor Capital, Amazon's Alexa Fund, RevUp Capital, the AT&T Aspire Accelerator, and others. Its web and mobile app, which motivate people to read by participating in reading challenges, is licensed by over 10,000 libraries and schools across the country and has been used by over 3 million readers. Felix earned a Bachelors of Arts from Syracuse University where he was the commencement student speaker. He also has a Masters of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing from Washington University in Saint Louis where he was awarded a Chancellor’s Fellowship.
