BIO

Amanda Parker is a communications and business development specialist working across the cultural and creative sectors, running engagement and awareness campaigns with a focus on audience diversity and inclusion in employment practice. After a career in television and radio production, Amanda moved into campaigns management for the BBC, producing the launch and recruitment campaign for BBC Radio 1Xtra, and working with the BBC’s radio networks and orchestras on national music campaigns, winning an RTS award, two Webby awards and a CRE Race in the Media Award. As Head of Communications for Directors UK, Amanda wrote the organisation’s first report into the gender disparity in hiring television directors, leading to industry-wide change in TV drama hiring and training practices. As Chair of Parents and carers in Performing Arts (PiPA), Amanda has provided strategic support to help PiPA’s growth: helping the new team to build business resilience across theatre, dance and music through helping parents and carers to continue their careers in the performance arts sector. Amanda works with corporate clients and SMEs, delivering strategies for increased brand management, internal and external communications engagement, change management, and profile growth. Amanda is an Oxford University graduate, a graduate of the BBC Leadership Programme at Ashridge Business School and a graduate of the Clore Leadership programme. Amanda is an RSA Fellow, and a board member for Film London, where she sits on the working groups for Public Affairs and Audience Development. She also sits on the board of The Albany in Deptford. She is the Founder of Inc Arts, a national body campaigning for increased inclusion in the arts sector workforce, and researching retention and recruitment solutions for the sector.
