Bio
A physician-inventor, Daniel Burnett founded Respirix, the San Francisco company behind Cardiospire, a handheld device that monitors heart failure non-invasively by reading cardiogenic oscillations in exhaled airflow. He earned MD and MBA degrees from Duke University after studying bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and runs TheraNova, the San Francisco medical device incubator he launched in 2005 that has spun out more than a dozen companies. Burnett is named on dozens of issued patents and directs UCSF's Masters of Translational Medicine program as an adjunct professor.
