A co-founder of Vimcal, Michael Zhao serves as the company's chief technology officer alongside chief executive John Li. The pair started the business in 2018 and went through Y Combinator's summer 2018 batch with an augmented reality idea before pivoting to a keyboard-driven calendar app aimed at people who schedule heavily. Zhao studied computer science and environmental economics at UC Berkeley and worked as a product manager at Microsoft and Kabam.
