Bio
With over 18 years of experience in software engineering, data science, and risk management, I am the co-founder and CEO of Sardine, a behavior-infused platform that offers fraud prevention, compliance (KYC/AML), and payments solutions for various industries, such as banking, online marketplaces, fintech, crypto, online gaming, and gift cards. We are hiring actively and looking for talented and passionate people who share our vision of taking the risk out of high-risk payments. Previously, I led the risk and data science teams at Coinbase, where we scaled the platform by over 1000x and enabled millions of users to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies securely and efficiently. I also worked at Revolut, where I launched their first regulatory compliant crypto product in the US and built their fraud and compliance stack from scratch. I have a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University and hold multiple patents in network security and anomaly detection. I also co-founded Risk Salon, a think tank that brings together risk professionals from tech companies in the SF bay area and Seattle. I write about fintech, fraud prevention, and thoughtful company building on my blog and newsletter.
