Mike Merwarth

Aperek Chief Executive Officer, Mike Merwarth, is a lifelong North Carolinian and currently lives in Raleigh with his family. His wife and 2 daughters are all dedicated to healthcare. Mike has been a board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. His work with the foundation has helped towards a cure for diabetic children. He continues to mentor with those diagnosed with “adult onset” Type I diabetes. Mike enjoys boxing, skin diving and motorcycle trips to the mountains. He is a graduate of Davidson College. Mike drives the company’s commitment to quality. Mike’s leadership and vision are integral to the Aperek innovative solutions. Under Mike’s direction, the Aperek client base has increased to over 200 hospitals and counting. Mike began his career at IBM in Sales and Marketing in 1977. He sold Global Software their first in-house IBM mainframe computer. And in 1983, Mike joined Global Software. For 17 years, Mike served in several key management roles. Before serving as General Manager of the healthcare-centered business unit, Mike was the Sales Director and Vice President of Sales. His leadership as GM expanded the business unit into what is now Aperek. In 2001, Mike was named CEO.
