Created in 2017, Smodin started from founder Kevin Danikowski’s belief that every student or writer could excel with the right tools. Over five different careers and countless hours working with students of all abilities, he saw the same learning roadblocks come up again and again. One of the biggest hurdles? Writing an essay.
This inspired him to create Smodin’s first tool: the Essay Writer. From there, Smodin built additional tools to speed up content creation—like a citation generator, text summarizer, and tools to detect and bypass AI.
Today, Smodin serves millions of students, writers, and educators in 40+ languages.
