Founder / CEO

Mark Lee

Mark leads Splashtop’s efforts to delight customers with the company’s next-generation remote access platform, which enables secure, fast, and affordable remote work, learning, and support—anytime, anywhere. Under Mark’s leadership, Splashtop achieved $1 billion valuation ‘unicorn’ status in early 2021. Prior to Splashtop, Mark was co-founder and CEO of OSA Technologies, acquired by Avocent (NASDAQ: AVCT) in 2004 for over $100 million USD. After the acquisition, Mark served as Senior VP/GM of Avocent, which was later acquired by Emerson (NYSE: EMR) for $1.2 billion USD. Prior to OSA, Mark spent eight years at Intel as a software engineer and chip designer. Mark has served on the boards of Linux Foundation, a non-profit consortium dedicated to fostering the growth of Linux and promoting standards and collaborations. Mark spent time with many aspiring new Asian America youths interested in entrepreneurialship through his participation at Monte Jade Science & Technology Association and Hua Yuan Science & Technology Association. Mark has served on the boards of Ninetowns, a public company, and various startups. He earned BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT—where he met the other three Splashtop co-founders—as well as an executive MBA from Arizona State University. Mark serves as an Educational Counsel for MIT, interviewing local high school students who are applying to MIT. Born in Taiwan, Mark moved with his family to Los Angeles at age 13. An entrepreneur at heart, Mark earned good money starting in high school by building and then selling computers on Internet. With strong math proficiency from early age, he started taking advanced math courses at UCLA while in high schools. With enough college credits, Mark took gap years at MIT to work full time at McKinsey and launch startups, while still managing to graduate in five years with both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Mark enjoys karaoke even though he isn’t a good singer… it’s probably more the social drinking with friends he enjoys.
