He held senior technology leadership positions in large Canadian telecom companies (Rogers, Shaw Cable and Group Telecom) and played a key role in building the Internet backbone in Canada. He also held senior positions at the Ontario government's electronic health initiative and lead the development of the health information network in Ontario. Vijai is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
