Before starting Groove, Alex Turnbull co-founded BantamLive, which was acquired by Constant Contact in 2011. He went on to build Groove, a help desk platform for small businesses, bootstrapping the company from Newport, Rhode Island despite having no coding background. Turnbull documented the startup's ups and downs publicly on his widely read Founder's Journey blog, which became one of the better-known founder blogs in SaaS.
