Chief Analytics Officer at FICO

BIO

Any behavior of people, numbers or events is ultimately unpredictable. Or is it? From my post-doctoral work in chaos theory to a career in analytic science, Ive been endlessly fascinated by the behavioral patterns and predictive insights that data can yield. Ive watched, with great amusement, the business worlds discovery of big data and subsequent obsession with it; since I was a college student I have understood, at an almost cellular level, that the answers to many of the worlds questions lie in the mountains of data produced by people and machines. At FICO I have had the opportunity to apply my curiosity to solve a wide range of seemingly unpredictable behaviors. I am honored to have the originality of my work acknowledged with a total of 110 authored patents: 57 patents granted and 53 patents in process, in areas including: Fraud analytics Cybersecurity Collections and credit risk Unstructured data analytics Unsupervised machine learning Utility analytics Self-learning machine learning models Explainable and Ethical AI Deep learning algorithms Anti-money laundering Mobile analytics I am also honored to have attracted a world-class team of analytic scientists and researchers to work at FICO. Sharing ideas with my team and using our collective expertise to solve new problems energizes me every day. I fell in love with San Diego after only one visit as a post-doc student. These days Im active in helping our tech community to reach its fullest potential, serving on the Boards of numerous industry groups. In addition, I am an enthusiastic participant in our societys conversations on the future of analytics, cybersecurity, data science and artificial intelligence. I enjoy speaking to audiences worldwide on these topics, and interacting with journalists and media of all kinds. To hear more of my views, follow me on Twitter @ScottZoldi.
