22 year old launches ECommerce SaaS in Colombia, Hits 11 UsersFeb 13, 2023

he launched his own company brisso.io which helps e-commerce Brands launch their stores faster and also quickly generate content for Facebook ads he's seeing all of his signups use that product aggressively hoping he launch a 10 per month paywall here shortly he's a sole team member right now working then working on his SAS company as a side gig hopefully he takes off he quits and he comes up on a year and he tells us he's a millionaire we'll see what happens hey folks my guest today is Almer Abarra he is the founder and CEO of bristow.io it's e-commerce infrastructure for smbs um are you ready to take it to the top yes I'm ready all right what got you into this space did you have your own company or what yeah yes I have my own company right now I'll be working on it like a year a couple of years ago I started working on a year ago um I started this idea because I I knew there was a problem with e-commerce right now here on LA on latam Latin America I think there is a problem with the establishment of the the Commerce okay so the people that start a Commerce we can say entrepreneurs people that want to sell their their um their their stuff people that are ready I established a store a physical store they want to say okay but what's the problem they always try to hire a graphic designer they are with a start to look for another platforms Shopify you can say a jump seller here there is another application I think it's summer that recently just uh got a fund of 5 Millions I think they from from raised five millions they are from Rapid they they are extrapping um so what is the problem here with latam e-commerce what I what I what I uh I can say what I see real quick just so we don't lose the audience guys my audience what Omar's helping companies do an armor correct me if I'm wrong you're helping them launch in ladam their e-commerce stores faster using templates visual templates and structural templates for their website is that right exactly exactly exactly what I can say is that we are solutions you start e-commerce platforming uh e-commerce store in just one minute there's other solutions that you can start I start on five minutes 10 minutes even in Shopify you start with a front store in like five minutes because you have to yep yeah this makes sense Omar this is great so help us understand how you're making money or are you pre-revenue today yeah right now I'm free Revenue but what is my business what is our business model uh right now we have a solution where you can you can make ads from Facebook directly from your application and you can put ads on on Facebook we try to partner with Google ads and with Mercado Mercado ads you don't know if you know Mercado Libre of course how are you planning to get your first customers though what sorry how are you how are you planning to get your first customers okay uh in the moment we are in traction okay we are just recently a couple weeks ago we started to uh to make some ads on Facebook on Facebook we'll start to promote on some some uh entrepreneurship after shipping uh Facebook groups and we get we got our first users but we receive a lot of feedback Omar how many users do you have today okay how many users do you have today how many signups a 11 11 years you're living signers yes 11 signs did any of them did any of those come from the Facebook ads exactly foreign groups for entrepreneurship and in dropshipping name a Facebook group that you've posted and that got you some of these sign ups yeah exactly hearing some groups Ace name a Colombia Drop Shipping uh Colombia Drop Shipping okay Colombia Drop Shipping and uh uh I think there was another group um I think there's a group of e-commerce yeah are you reaching out to the owner of Columbia Drop Shipping and asking them to partner with you or do you just hustle in the group you just post a random update yeah yeah yes I just promote on the group okay I just put them on the group because I I first of all I started to to start to get some feedback from research you know I mean from review users that they came they can test test it out their duplication because we have two solutions the web app and the application is right now just in just in the Google Play Store um how many of the 11 signups have launched a store they have a live website A4 foreign oh what's going on there YouTube good to see you guys now imagine this you love watching these interviews with SAS Founders but imagine if we took all of the valuation data out from over 2807 interviews I've done manually saves you a lot of time well we've done this we've built the into the beautiful interface inside of founder path check this out I'll show you how you can access this in a second but you log in you connect your stripe account you see your valuation real time you can see what it changed over the past 88 days and even set goals for evaluation this year now the secret valuation is there's many different ways to value a SAS business so the reason you're going to see three or four different evaluations inside of your founder path dashboard this is all free by the way is because depending on who's doing the buying of your SAS company you're going to get a different valuation a VC is going to pay a different valuation private Equity Firm is different if you're going to do a minority sale that's different and if you sell the whole business that's a different valuation you can see all those when I hover over here here right so the teal is what a VC would pay yellow is what private equity and red is if you sold the whole thing outright now what's cool about this is this is not built off random data again you guys hear these interviews on YouTube all these datas are built from real-time valuation data points Founders share with us on the show so traction 1.2 million seed round 3.7 raise they sold 22 percent of their business go in here and filter by the event maybe you only want to see companies that have sold the whole business well here are a bunch that have been acquired the valuation and the multiple maybe you're going out right now and you're raising your seed round well go in here and look at all this recent seed deals that went down what they raised what valuation they raised at and what percent that they sold there's never been a larger data set of SAS valuation than what you can get now inside of founder path and we're thrilled to bring it to you all right we're gonna go back to the YouTube video here in a second but if you want to check this tool out if you want to jump in and sign up you can check it out for free to get your valuation at this link this link founderpath.com forward slash products forward slash evaluations or if you go to founderpath.com and hover over products click on get your valuation here and go ahead and sign up to give it a whirl again all that valuation data live right inside the platform I hope to see you there all right let's jump back into the interview when do you start when do you start planning like when do you think you're going to ask them to start paying a and right now I don't we don't have any paying users we start what is what is what is happening right now uh to be honest I I stopped the the app because I got a lot a lot of feedback because some users say that one of solutions that is the graphic designer a graphic graphic design uh the post sorry the post the post generator because we have a solution where you can open our photo from your gallery or you can take a photo with your camera and we make automatically some some templates where you come you promote your products on social media Facebook ads on eBay you can make those products it's something like Photo map you don't I don't know if you know that app it's called photo map where you can upload a photo in the generation post for your social medias in your store well we have a solution like that something like that okay with a solution you can make posts for your social medias and also we have another solution where you can promote bummer just sorry just to take a step back we I think we understand the product what I'm trying to understand is how you build this into a great company right so what do you think you're going to charge from a pricing perspective and when will you ask for money exactly uh right now that's what I'm trying to say so or we can I can say or or our strongest uh feature is the the post generator okay okay because with this post generator you can make uh Facebook ads okay you can mix payable ads you pay a small fee if you are a free music how much though how much how much do you plan that when you launch pricing what will your first price point be exactly we have three plans right now the freemium the basic plan that is ten dollars you can say in Colombian pesos is ten dollars right now we have the resolution that is a fifteen dollars I think second time in person I don't know I've never remember the the conversion right now um we are so what's your plan to get some of these four customers that have launched their website to start paying ten dollars per month exactly that's what I I was trying to I was trying to go to that to a question so we have we have a user flow where we we will start to get to get the the first paying use okay so this is the reserve flow you start you start uh uh your account okay you start to promote to promote your your store your social media with our integration with good Facebook ads okay you can promote from our application on Facebook ads for the all those entrepreneurship entrepreneurs small businesses that don't know how to make a marketing okay so you create your content you create your uh Geographics for your social medias you direct your phone up from up a promoting on Facebook ads we we charge a small fee for those for those uh For Those ads but Omar how many people are using the posting tool already to launch Facebook ads all the users all those okay all users exactly how many how many of them are so when you show them ten dollars per month do they say yes Omar I'm ready to pay and if they say no why are they saying no um at the moment no at the moment or or users that are using our integration with people ads are your streaming users so to those premium users we charge a small fee that is two dollars for every for every ad content okay so you have Revenue right now this is a feature that we're working on okay it's a feature we're working right now so on our my you're you're missing my question my question is how do you take your active users that are using your tool that allows them to post images to Facebook ads right when do you plan it sounds like they're using it when do you plan to say you can't use this anymore unless you start paying ten dollars per month yeah uh Is We I plan to do that when there is alert that the user starts to promote more on your application I can say how many posts do you want to see them making per month before you ask them to pay um I mean the the frequency where they make some post is one a day the ones a day okay they make a post once a day and we charge we try to charge a small fee um but if they want to make some more content I don't know more famous ads which are uh giving a greater fee but if they have a plan they basic plan or the entrepreneurial plan that is ten dollars or fifteen dollars we have we have a a discount okay how about this one we offer a discount we uh and we have a the the we have an integration with the with our Gateway a payment Gateway where you we can also charge less an armor we're almost we're almost at a time here so I want to get more of your story are you are you a single founder here or do you have a co-founder yeah yeah I'm a single founder does it just you right now working on the company or do you have a team yeah yeah right now I'm working on a single person that's awesome and are you in school what you look young how old are you 22. so did you drop out of school to do this or what no no right now I'm working I'm a software engineer I'm a senior software engineer right now at which company uh quick quick help peace out Wendy when do you tell them hey I'm getting rich on my side business I'm gonna quit I think I don't know it could be on six months I don't know a year because I already started to to pitch my right now I have been compared with Founders I start to peace with some investors I have a very good uh networking skill I can say but right now to be honest with you this this uh this this uh this idea of mine this company is already I think we have potential okay you have potential but I do too I mean we're certainly we're certainly rooting for you we hope it goes well but for today we're out of time so let's wrap up number one what's your favorite book my favorite book it could be doing a startup number two is their CEO you're following or studying my
