Sky Portugal is a subsidiary of the UK media, entertainment, and telco giant, Sky. In the Portuguese market since 2012, Sky Portugal has made a name for itself in the tech industry as a center of excellence in the field of software development.
Currently, we’re a team of nearly 500 highly talented engineers and we have ambitious plans for our future. Our focus is to create the best software and apps for TV and streaming platforms, to better connect our customers to more of the thrilling content they love!

Sky’s activity also centers around TV and cinematic production, with widely known channels such as Sky News and Sky Sports and productions such as the recent award-winning TV series «Chernobyl».
In 2018 Sky Group became part of the Comcast family, an American giant with many of the same business focus areas as Sky and owing brands such as NBCUniversal and Dreamworks. As a part of a corporate group with a global reach, Sky Portugal assumed a strategic role in the development of NBCUNiversal’s streaming product, Peacock, which launched in the American market in 2020.
Our team of skilled engineers played a significant part in the development of the technological platform for SkyShowtime, a streaming product joining Comcast and Viacom, now available in over 22 European countries.
