Beehiiv is a SaaS email platform and ad network founded in 2021 by Tyler Denk and co-founders Ben and Jake. The company enables publishers, content creators, and businesses to send newsletters, grow their audiences, and monetize through three revenue streams: subscription fees, an ad network, and a co-registration product called Boost. As of June 2024, Beehiiv reported approximately $10.2 million in annualized recurring revenue and 20,000 active publishers on the platform. The platform hosts roughly 150 to 200 million unique subscribers across its ecosystem and sends approximately 1.3 billion emails per month. Advertisers including Netflix, HubSpot, monday.com, and Betterment use the network to reach niche newsletter audiences. About 20 to 25 percent of active publishers monetized through the platform in the prior 30 days, with Beehiiv paying out approximately $1.2 million to those publishers in a single month. Beehiiv closed a $33 million Series B led by NEA in March 2024 at a $225 million valuation, bringing total funding to $49.7 million. Denk, who was 30 at the time of the interview, previously served as a growth engineer at Morning Brew, where he helped scale the business to $20 million in revenue before its $75 million acquisition exit.
