Founder / CEO

Nick Mattingly

Hi, I’m Nick! As a kid I was always drawn to technology and design. I later took an interest in audio, video and web...all wildly different but fundamentally connected. While operating as station manager of my college radio station I started experimenting with live video and it didn’t take long for me to go all in. Before graduating, one of my friends and I started a media agency and just kept stumbling in the right direction. I later left the company and took two years without a paycheck as we started the beginnings of Switcher Studio. We started slow, partnering with a Swiss developer that had previously built an impressive mobile video app. Then I pulled in some smart people and together we launched a public beta for a SaaS video creation platform we called “Switcher Studio”. In my experience I’ve found most businesses approach video in two ways: 1. Invest in expensive equipment or hire a professional 2. Hit the video button in the Facebook or Twitter app I thought it was dumb that people had to go broke making video or sacrifice quality - So I set out to do something about it. Switcher wasn’t an overnight success but we saw an incredible amount of interest and continued to use our own product to improve usability and reliability. Now Switcher is an official Facebook Live Partner trusted by companies like Microsoft, Golf Channel, NASCAR, WWE and more. Our product is used by businesses and brands around the world (over 115 countries to be exact) and is changing the way people think about video. Through all this I’ve learned a lot - and I share what I’ve learned on the Switcher weekly live and at video centric events where our product is featured like VidCon, F8 and NAB.
