hello everyone my guest today is Yanni of sure he's an entrepreneur seasoned product and program leader and author of time to deliver and he's behind the party up at --nt he's also the founder and CEO of a proactive time line task management and project portfolio for teams before founding the company he held several senior positions at VeriFone Aladdin Flextronics and Intel Yanni are you ready to take us to the top yeah I'm ready all right so listen any time I see someone joining from Israel I'm expecting big things every Israeli founder is like hugely successful doing incredible things so you're killing it right yeah you know this is everyone you know thinking out of the box and trying to come up with things that will at the end of the day will change you will I love it that's great okay tell us more about the company what are you doing how do you make money so project actually developed collaborating timeline for teams this is an area which has been untouched for so many years people continue use the archive Gantt charts like MS Project and many follow-up computer programs that tend to use the same gun chart but people actually don't really like to use and project came up with a innovative diagram called project map and in a way created a very intuitive timeline for teams that people can just go into a room and come up after one hour with with a project plan that they can really operate so we're working with a typical SAS hotel those people are people are actually signing in and paying per seat fee to use the application and most of the time we're seeing teams starting between five six to ten seats is the basic you know project team type of operation and they are just going go ahead using the app so what would you say the average corporation is paying you per month I'm sure you have a lot of different cohorts but on average what would you say oh you know it's about ten twelve month they use it okay well how many let's not do it at a per user per seat level the company as a whole right so when you sign up a new logo or your current logos you service are they paying on average like 10 bucks a month or a hundred bucks depending on their team size what's the average you know it's very depend on the end of the day this is an application for enterprise organization so enterprise organization will start with like 25 users even more so for an enterprise to pay like a 250 $300 per month it makes sense if this is a small team you know just between three to five people they can end up with like 45 60 so it makes sense for them it's it's bringing value to the project operation it's no brainer okay so what would you say your average is more 45 bucks a month or 300 bucks a month yeah for a small team it will be 45 60 for that price the stock we it will be a 53 huh yeah Yanni but I understand that I'm trying to get a sense of are you skewing more towards 300 bucks a month or more towards 45 I understand you have two separate cohorts so yeah so yeah so it's more for the enterprise market and it will be moral to have 300 okay got it give me more of the back story here when did you launch the company actually I started in project management like 20 years ago as part of into the beginning then we went through six Tronics and allowed me to be part of very fun I did many management roles but at the end of the day my core expertise was project management about three years ago I started thinking you know I'm not really using all these applications that are out there I'm managing my team through meetings I'm doing it with Excel files and I started thinking that maybe it's time to come up with application of people are really going to use as you mentioned they started with writing a book about it's time to deliver on Amazon did you sell oh yeah I think no no so if you search what time deliver you will see the book there how many attic curiosity how many copies did you end up selling I don't know yet it went out like seven a month ago so I would say some there range of 1,000 okay right only the beginning the book is you know it's it's like an issue because it's talking about a new methodology for project management things that will be really interesting for people managing project teams it's not a typical high seller book okay at the end of day the book is not really about the applications about dode at some point will feel like it's not only a book and it's more than that so I went ahead writing a patent in the US and from this point investors started looking into it and this is where we came up with a new company and started implementing all this methodology that were thinking about so when was when was that uh 2015 it was yeah it was 2016 like three years ago the application went live in the US in a better state in 2017 and recently started in production early 2018 and so how many customers have you scaled to today we have thousands of users using the app right now and out of them hungry of paying accounts okay guys so so a hundred kind of corporations are you a hundred different teams are using you yeah these are teams with incorporation in some cases the corporate finding interesting enough to make it part of like the IP offering so it comes up from the account from the top-level management to the entire organization okay and walk me through you know you just turned on a revenue this is a fun place to be as an entrepreneur right at the beginning what are you doing now per month in terms of M RR yeah first of all it's not the fun place to be it's a very challenging place yeah but it's the best trust me a lot of a lot of $100,000,000 CEOs wish they were back in your shoes okay I remember that yeah so we are currently doing the first road to the 10 km or our point this is what we are we we are right now yep and actually to be front at the point where we are right now it's more about finding your product market fit and come up with this interesting account people that are willing to give you feedback so you can really scale because the point where people started recommending the app to to other companies this is what you really scale this is where we are right now we have first accounts really excited about the product and telling friends about that and this is what we are certain motions to be clear you're doing 10,000 hours per month right now a year ago you hadn't launched yet you were pre-revenue correct that's right and have you only and happy bleep right yeah have you bootstrapped the company or have you raised actually I did some working others right patent on a bootstrap and then he noticed our development we raised well very efficient first after only six seven months we have an application in the marketing participation show how much have you raised total it's about two million now and you know mostly from Israeli investors or did you come to a stage or Europe no not at all we have located in Israel but the interactivities Global's or first investigator of the States I'm Angela mesto and then the VC that was finally involved is mangrove from Luxembourg was announced a week ago but and they actually came up with a follow-up investment that will enable continue were confirmed but features intervene in the go to Martha's fees you know tell me about churn has anyone started paying you and then stopped not yet you know most of in the project management interesting people are not going to use the app for several weeks you know the vast majority of our users are signing for a year so since we only started recently we don't have any churn yet because people are really trying to up long term you're not going to you know invest the time required to put a project of a new interface in order to just you know go away after one what we did I would disagree with that I mean I remember when we signed up for base camp or when we sign up for Trello or like oral new China for liquid planner these or monday-- commies project management tools I always like to test it for a month fest I'll sign up for a month first and then commit to a year you know it's a great point because most of the application you just mentioned our task management you know Trello and Monday and Basecamp is a task management you know you always feels that this need to have you task menu somewhere it makes sense to sign up for a month to see how it works but in project management whether you're talking long term any team involved in long term plans it's about in 10 you know it's the point where you have this project running for the next six eight months so signing up for one month doesn't make sense so they get getting three days three days trial for free they can test the app they can see that it fits and then when they finally subscribe it's for one year we have only one team in the US a biotech field signing on a monthly basis and they are still yeah interesting okay very good I imagine it's too early to talk about you know customer acquisition cost and and lifetime value things like that correct mm-hmm yeah yeah it's too early but you know as you can imagine we are looking after this value at the beginning it's quite high I think that what is it we'll see some information about that what do you mean quite high what is it at the beginning before you have the awareness for the company so it will be in the 50 and will be in the 50 to bring a new...
