hello everyone my guest today is Osman coach he is a start his professional life as a venture analyst in the angel investment Network then co-founded a startup studio helping entrepreneurs from ideation to web development with his current partner nowadays he's responsible for growth and sales of a user guiding Ostman are you ready to take us to the top yep I am right there okay so are you a founder user guiding yep I'm we are two co-founders and we are friends for 14 years and I'm the one of the co-founders from office of guiding there again you said you're very excited to come on why are you so excited I don't know that's why that that will be my first video podcast that's why I'm so excited have you listened to the show before yep I listened a lot oh oh good so this won't be a surprise what's about to happen then right yeah yeah okay so tell it tell us more what's the company do and is it a pure place SAS company yeah it's a user onboarding SAS are our customers can create product tours world rules or tutorials without coding it improves their product adoption process it's a pure sauce company and and what the customers paper per year first or per month we have to be able to plan first one startup second one is growth startup plan is $99 per month the growth one is $249 per month okay and would you guys launch the company we launched a user guide Inc and January 17th on this year 2017 and how many customers have you scaled to today actually we're on an episode campaign like Lambeth I have listened your podcast before we we have 900 lifetime customers ignore those because they're not SAS it so that's a one-time fee you're never like just your recurring customers you we we have 18 paying customers okay 18 customers paying a hundred bucks a month surging about eighteen hundred dollars per month in revenue and it's around three three thousand okay cause some of them are paying more than 100 bucks I see got it so three thousand a month just on your recurring / 18 customers that's about 160 ish dollars per month there and then you had a huge kind of inflection of cash from the appSumo campaign have you used have you raised capital or outside of that to fund the company or no no not yet if the we are close to round a seed round NOAA days but it did it it's what it is not closed yet so an app Summa when you did it how many how many customers bought it actually resold 2,300 deals a 2300 deals at what price point $49 $49 for life so 2,300 times 50 bucks that's about a hundred and fifteen thousand dollars right yeah that's right and you guys keep 30% of that correct yeah that's call right so you got about thirty four thousand dollars from that campaign yep yeah without that's that's right and where did you spend that money him we have some debts actually we we paid these debts because we you know we we didn't raise any money where was the denim how much debt did you have and where was it from actually that's like 20 thousand bucks from friends and family yep and we paid these debts and yeah actually we yeah most of the money went to Human Resources okay how many people are on the team today we are five people five people that's great and you're at three thousand bucks a month today were you at zero a year ago yeah that's good and and I mean so there's a lot of companies in this space Penn do I would say is right there at the forefront there's a lot of other folks why did you guys decide to jump into this space it's very crowded yeah that's really crowded actually we were in San Francisco and we have a startups to do as you say and we made some savings we went to San Francisco with that money we didn't have any idea and we searched a product idea for first month that was really stressful then we actually we decide we determined that was a problem because on our startups your days actually we have always have that problem and one of our friends who is ex Kugler and has is managing every scene san francisco offered a job to us and we we we focus his job and it was really difficult to understand and we said ok we can create some guys to highlight the value proposition then we said oh my god yeah we can create a new product actually we didn't know user onboarding area before we searched it got it then we there are a lot of tools already but we we try it almost all of them but it's we said we can we can create a better user onboarding tool what didn't you like about panda and no we didn't try and though because yeah you you you cannot register panda directly you have to have a demo with panda we didn't write and this was a expensive one we tried at Kooskia million user user clout but we didn't try panda so on so so there's five of you guys are you all in San Francisco no actually we were in San Francisco with call from my co-founder Mohammed we are example right now Istanbul very good and are you guys cashflow positive are you burning money we are burning money how much like a $1,000 per month ah you know yeah per month but we are really close to close the enterprise deal it will be like seven seventy thousand dollars per year yeah we I hope we will be on cash cash positive as soon in in one month so what's the plan I mean what's the growth channel you're gonna use to go from 18 customers to a hundred we didn't make any paid marketing so far so we hired a marketer from another sauce company on my cheek so we just we will try to make some paid campaigns some contact marketing should we don't make any serious marketing campaign so far until EPS more you know EPS more it's a really busy days and we we just okay okay we are down with support tickets and user guiding is good enough to say well yeah my question is like ignore appszoom I'm talking about getting real customers right so like what is the plan moving forward to get real paying customers yeah actually we will we will do some Korra ads and we we will we will really charge product hunt founders because we relaunch user guiding on product hunt and we are still getting a good traffic from product hunt some of our paying customers came from product hunt then we we we are making some cold emailing emailing yeah called emailing content marketing and for the campaign very good alright let's wrap up here with the famous five number one what's your favorite business book it's crossing the chest crossing the chasm or the Charles yeah from Jeff Jeff yeah number two is there a CEO you're following or studying Ritz Hoffman number three what is your favorite online tool Google optimize number number four how many hours of sleep to get every night six hours okay and what's your situation married single kids that's single not married no kids no marry and how are you and 26 26 last question what do you wish your 20 year old self knew actually I we started our own business at 24 I will start at 20s I will start a business earlier start earlier guys there you have it from Osmond founder the user guiding back about a year ago now has about 18 customers paying 160 bucks a month so doing three thousand dollars per month right now in revenue burning about a grand per month they are bootstrapped five people remote and an Istanbul they looked as scale they're gonna try kora adds in content marketing we'll see what happens Osman thanks for taking us to the top yeah thank you so much have a good day
