Orca Security is an agentless cloud security platform founded in 2019 and headquartered in the cloud security market. The company's patented side-scanning technology connects to a customer's public cloud environment with read-only access, analyzes block storage from the side, and maps vulnerabilities, malware, and misconfigurations across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform without installing an agent.
Gil Geron, a co-founder who led product and engineering for the first three and a half years before becoming CEO, told Latka that Orca reached its first paying customer within three weeks of launching its product and crossed one million dollars in annual revenue in early 2020. Revenue then grew approximately 12 times between 2020 and 2021, driven in large part by the Log4j vulnerability disclosure, which created sudden enterprise demand for Orca's complete-visibility scanning capability.
As of 2025, Orca serves more than 1,000 customers with a team of 400 employees. The company has raised a cumulative total estimated at roughly 630 to 650 million dollars, including a 550 million dollar extended Series C led by Temasek that valued the company at 1.8 billion dollars in 2021. Geron declined to confirm current revenue figures beyond the publicly known trajectory, though the company's average contract value and expansion deals signal a firmly enterprise-grade business.
