Local SEO software encompasses tools designed to enhance a business's visibility in localized search results, primarily on search engines like Google. These solutions enable businesses, particularly those with brick-and-mortar locations, to optimize their online presence by managing business listings, monitoring customer reviews, and tracking local search performance. The software is crucial for local businesses seeking to attract nearby customers by ensuring they appear in relevant geographic searches. Key features of local SEO software often include business listing management, citation tracking, keyword ranking analysis, and integration with Google Business Profiles. Users typically include digital marketing professionals, small business owners, and agencies managing multiple clients, all aiming to drive foot traffic to physical locations. By streamlining tasks related to search engine optimization, these tools allow businesses to efficiently maintain consistency and improve their local online presence.

UENI is a London-based technology company founded at the start of 2015 that builds and hosts websites for sole traders and micro businesses. Unlike drag-and-drop website builders, UENI operates a do-it-for-me model: the company writes the copy, structures the site, and pushes the business's information out to other high-traffic platforms on the owner's behalf. The entry product is free; paid monthly subscriptions, which add listings on about 20 platforms, run from 9.99 to 19.99 a month (she named no currency). In February 2019, co-founder Christine Telyan told Latka that UENI was coming up on about 20,000 free businesses on its platform and was signing up 200 to 300 new businesses a day, aiming for about 500 a day by the end of March 2019. The company had raised about £15 million, from the co-founders' own money and three rounds of angel financing, and had about 45 people based in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, and Ukraine. Telyan said the target for 2019 was 150,000 to 200,000 businesses on the platform. UENI had not yet focused on converting free users to paid; she planned upsells for the middle of 2019 and named transaction fees and revenue-share partnerships as other potential revenue streams. UENI's filed accounts show turnover of £180,236 for 2019 and £4,257,177 for 2022, the latest year disclosed.
