CEO at Archetris

BIO

He like to build things. Architecture was a natural next step from couch-cushion forts and tree houses. Architecture school, though, teaches a lot more than just how to design buildings, it teaches a way to think - a way to solve problems. For the last 25+ years he have been solving complex problems using the analytical, design-focused approach taught in architecture school. These same methods are now taught at business school and have been rebranded as ‘design thinking’. In the end it’s not what the methods are called or where you learn them that matter, it’s what you can do with them. He have saved the companies he worked for hundreds of thousands of dollars building tools that allowed them to do more with less. Things like a pre-BIM medical equipment database linked to an early version of AutoCAD; a construction administration tool automating the processing of Bulletins, Submittals, RFIs and Change Orders; a web-based on-boarding tool that reduced the technology set-up time for new employees by 90%. He founded, grew and ran the IT group at a major international design firm. Our group provided the infrastructure that supported the firm’s growth from 6 offices to 18, 120 staff to over 400. We did this with eight staff. Now he is building a company that builds tools to help design firms.
