Ivan Tsybaev

Born in Russia and lived most of my childhood on Sakhalin Island near Japan. I was fond of programming at school, won competitions. But at that time there was no online education and my parents were poor, so I could not get a professional programming education and got a financial management degree. My first job was in the finance department of ExxonMobil, but after a year there I decided to start my first company. I was engaged in various businesses, but always wanted to be in tech. In 2009 I moved to New York, in 2013 I moved to Silicon Valley to start a tech startup. We built the most popular trucker app in the US, Trucker Path, which we monetized through financial services. I sold it in late 2017. In March 2019, I founded the ed-fintech startup Careerist where we finance, train and place talent in tech.
