I’m entrepreneurial-driven. It gives me the conviction to work through adversity. The motivation to seek new opportunities. The passion to improve how things are done. Whether in large companies or as CEO of a biometric software authentication company, I’m guided by my philosophy: Work hard when opportunity presents itself and focus on results that drive growth. I started my career in sales with a leading pharmaceutical firm. That foundation honed my questioning and listening skills. I won several awards in sales and management. Although rewarding, I found more enjoyment in the entrepreneurial opportunities that were presented in the company. I decided to leave the big healthcare company to fulfill my entrepreneurial drive. I embarked on a number of healthcare early-stage ventures. I was involved with business plans, fund-raising, sales and marketing, operations and business management. Some were successful, others were not. The experience taught me the importance of perseverance, relationships and being laser focused on solving customer needs. Bio-Sig was born when an opportunity presented itself during a customer conversation. We bootstrapped it for the first two years. The prototype attracted the attention of the State of Texas. We received funding from their Emerging Technology Fund. We were issued 2 patents. Independent testing was performed. NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) accepted our solution as 3x better than existing guidelines. Interest from customers grew including selection by President Obama’s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC). Today, BioSig-ID provides a SAAS solution that’s become the premier biometric ID authentication software in the education, financial services, government regulatory services, associations and healthcare industries. It’s satisfying to reflect on where the company has come. But it's even more satisfying to listen to customers and continue development that delivers improvements.
