Jonathon Morgan is the founder and CEO of Yonder, a technology company building a more authentic internet. Prior to Yonder, Jonathon founded Data for Democracy, a non-profit volunteer collective of 4,000 members that organized data projects for social impact. Over the course of his career in technology, Jonathon has designed crisis data platformsfor Ushahidi, a Nairobi-based technology NGO, founded and hosted Partially Derivative, a top 50 iTunes podcast about data science and machine learning, and served as an advisor to the US State Department. Jonathon has published research about social media disinformation and radicalization with the Brookings Institution, The Atlantic, and the Washington Post, presented at NATO's Center of Excellence for Defense Against Terrorism, the United States Institute for Peace, and the African Union. He has published op-eds about information integrity and disinformation for CNN, The Guardian, and the New York Times. Jonathon is currently focused on data science research projects and product strategy for CrisisNET, a crisis data platform for Ushahidi. He was previously the CTO of SA Trails, a networking technology startup with operations across South America, Principal Technologist for Bay Area interactive agency Bright & Shiny, and founder of Good at the Internet, a full-service interactive agency with clients like SXSW. He's also the co-host a weekly podcast about data science and snobby beer called Partially Derivative.
