Guido Schulz is an effective commercial, strategy and marketing executive with global experience. - As CCSO (Commercial & Strategy) for MerchantLink, he successfully prepared the company for change of ownership, culminating in an accelerated sale to Shift4 in late August 2019. - As CCO for Bluefin, he pivoted the organization from an ISV focused payment gateway to a rapidly growing P2PE security network, thus multiplying the enterprise value. - As CSO (Strategy) for AFEX, he facilitated the evolution from a simple FX brokerage to a technology driven world wide payments and risk management solutions provider. His international experience and cultural adaptability (bilingual: English and German) allow him to effectively navigate various global business environments. Guido also functions as company spokesperson with published articles and appearances in major media channels (WSJ, Bloomberg, Washington Post, etc.). Prior to joining AFEX, Guido held the position of SVP at Ruesch International (then owned by Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe), responsible for the Americas P&L, trading and various support functions. He introduced a highly efficient and scalable client relationship management model, culminating in a successful sale to Travelex in 2007 (at $440m - a near quadrupling of the company's value in the span of two and a half years). He was then promoted to lead the Americas for the resulting combined organization.
