BIO

Ex ad-man now angel investor interested in early stage technology start-ups. I am a generalist by nature. A weakness I m not so sure. I believe it makes you adaptable prepared for change Useful skills to have on the shifting sands of a technology driven world. I spent 16 years in the ad industry helping disparate groups of skilled people achieve some pretty great stuff. For some that meant business results for others award-winning work. Hopefully for all it was the satisfaction of a job well done. I also spent a lot of time trying to understand what makes people tick to buy to like you. It s all about human nature. And were not that different. These skills serve me well when looking for investments. After all if you can t create something great that people want you don t have a business. Oh and I m also an optimist. It can be a struggle. Yet every day I meet amazing people with visions to make a world a better place. And that gets me excited. If you re in the business of trying to change the world then maybe we should talk. Revert to third person.... In 2013 Richard was named in BIMA s Hot 100 list which comprises of those who have had a big impact on the digital industry in the past 18 months. Which was nice Richard was also named in the list in 2014 and again in 2018 under the Industry Visionary tag Which was really nice and short-listed for Investor of the Year at the 2016 17 Europas. But his friend Jeremy won...which was ok and deserved...but not great. Richard is also the founder and director of the Friday Club London a not-for-profit events company aimed at driving valuable connections between start-ups and the wider business ecosystem.
