How Trualta hit $8.6M revenue with a 41 person team in 2023.
We empower a vitally important, yet often underserved, stakeholder in the healthcare system – the family caregiver. While there are existing training programs for home health aides and nurses to aid in the management of elder care, family members, who astonishingly provide over 80% of care to loved ones aging at home, find themselves with limited access to such essential training. This gap in knowledge can be critical, covering everything from actionable education on preventing falls within the home, safely transferring loved ones from a bed or chair, to managing challenging behavior in cases of dementia. Understanding that professional-level healthcare training content exists but is not readily accessible to family caregivers, Trualta has stepped in to bridge this gap. We have adapted professional healthcare training for the unique needs and situations of family caregivers. Our platform delivers this training through an informal and interactive online learning environment, precisely tailoring the learning experience to each caregiver’s specific situation. To promote active participation, our program incorporates a rewards system, allowing users to earn rewards which can be redeemed for products and services that assist them in their caregiving responsibilities. Our services are primarily offered to our customers - healthcare payers and providers in both Canada and the United States. They, in turn, provide Trualta at the point-of-care to enhance the capacity of families to smoothly transition their aging loved ones from hospital to home and support sustained independent living. Our commitment to delivering impactful support to family caregivers is further validated through clinical validation studies conducted in the US and Canada, which have begun to illustrate a connection between participation in the Trualta program and improved outcomes, alongside reduced care costs. As a proud resident company of both the Biomedical Zone in downtown Toronto and the Invest Ottawa Accelerator program, we are at the forefront of educational innovation for family caregivers. If you share our passion for educating and empowering families to deliver improved care for our aging population, we would be delighted to hear from you.
